Ingredients:
- 500g of sugar
- 150ml of water
- 2 teaspoons of instant coffee
- 4 tablespoons of coca
Method:
This is a nice and simple recipe.
Boil the water and the sugar in a small saucepan until the mix is syrupy. Next add the instant coffee and the cocoa powder. Continue to boil a little while longer until you have the desired consistency.
Serving suggestion:
I have made this coffee syrup a few times and I like to pour it on ice cream (usually on my favorite kind, chocolate!) If I am having a small dinner party, I will make a plain type of sponge pudding and then pour this sticky, but immensely tasty coffee sauce all over it (and every body else’s, if they let me do the pouring)!
Remember, you can alter and/or improve the taste to suit your palate, by using different types of coffee. You don’t necessarily have to used instant coffee, but it is quicker and easier. You may want to use an espresso of some kind.
