An ibrik is a Turkish coffee pot made from brass or copper. It has a long handle (like a saucepan) for easily removal from the heat without burning your hands. Traditional ibrik’s have numbers scratched underneath which signifies how many cups of coffee they will make.
The coffee grounds will usually remain in the bottom of the pot after brewing, however if some do end up in your cup – do not drink them.
If you long to try a Turkish coffee, but don’t own or intend to get an ibrik, you can use a small saucepan.
