The majority of the worlds coffee is grown within the Tropic of Capricorn and the Tropic of Cancer and is known as The Coffee Belt. As you will appreciate from the map, this is the tropical region above and below the Equator, where beans are born and cultivation thrives.
From Kona, the Big Island of Hawaii to Brazil, to Ethiopia across to Indonesia within The Coffee Belt – the top ten coffee producers of the world harvest and roast our three favorite blends – Robusta, Liberica and of course the superior Coffea Arabica. Within these latitudes, farms in Brazil produce around 22 million bags a year being the biggest supplier to the world, while Uganda, who specializes in Coffea Robusta, produce around 3 million.
