How make an Iced Cappuccino Using Instant Coffee

If your espresso maker is on the ‘fritz’ or you simply don’t have one, you can make a thirst quenching iced cappuccino with just instant coffee.

If you’re not a fan of instant, don’t worry! This actually tastes quite delicious, and is a good back up. But make sure you use quality instant granules.

What you will need:

  • 1 cup of Iced Cappuccino made with instant coffee
  • 2 tablespoons of strong instant coffee
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • Ice cubes
  • 1/3 cup of cream
  • Cinnamon

First make the cappuccino:

Fill your cup about three quarters of the way to the top, then heat in a saucepan for best results. You can heat the milk in a microwave, but I find that the milk tastes different somehow. So I always use a saucepan for heating milk.

In your mug, put the coffee and the desired amount of sugar and mix it with a small amount of the hot milk until dissolved. Then add the rest of the milk.

You should get a bit of froth just from adding the milk to the cup, but it’s not important at this point. But remember milk heats up quickly when it starts boiling.

And now the ‘ice cold part of your cappuccino’!

When the mixture has cooled down to room temperature, put it into a blender with a glass of ice cubes.

Blend the mix for a little while, until the ice has been crushed.

Then add the cream and blend until your chilled coffee beverage has gone frothy.

Serve garnished with the cinnamon (or cocoa powder) and whipped cream (if you like).

I hope you enjoy!
