Can Coffee Be Grown at Home?

Although the coffee plant and tree are beautiful to look at, especially when it is blossoming, unless you have an absolute fortune to spend on the production process, the chances of you reaping the rewards of having a coffee tree in your back garden are slim to none. Sorry!

You see, actually drinking your ‘coffee harvest’ and growing the tree are two entirely different things. It could actually be said that the growing, harvesting and production of the coffee beans is really a science.

I would think that the major coffee growers around the world would concur, because it involves many processes, from actually keeping the plant and tree in the right humidity and temperature to collecting and processing the beans, and then washing them before the roasting process starts.

About Andy Horton

I am a coffee aficionado and green tea enthusiast! I guess I can 'blame' for this because of my parents! As I was growing up my mother was always sipping a cup of coffee and my Dad well, as he has passed on - we celebrate 'national tea drinking day' on his birthday every year. It seemed as if tea was his 'Popeye's Spinach'. On a more serious topic, healthy living plays a huge part in my life and that of my families. So you will find subjects on this website relating to health. You can subscribe to my free daily newspaper at The Coffee Alera Daily and find me on Twitter and Facebook.
