Coffee Sauce Recipe

How to Make Coffee Sauce

This is a really simple to make sauce, but simple it does not taste!

If you want a really sticky sauce to spread over your pudding or your vanilla ice cream – this is it!

What do you need?

  • 2 whole eggs
  • 150ml espresso slightly cooled espresso coffee (room temperature is enough)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Thick double cream, whipped really good!
  • Hungry taste buds!
  • 50g castor sugar

How do you make it?

Just beat together two whole eggs.

Slowly add the cooled strong espresso and beat well.

Next add a pinch of salt and 50g of sugar and stir in a small saucepan over boiling water until the sauce thickens (you can do this in a saucepan over a medium heat, but I have found that it is too ‘risky’ and the mixture sometimes curdles. Do not let it curdle.

Then put in the refrigerator to Chill for a couple of hours and just before serving, fold in the whipped cream.

And there you have a stunningly tasty coffee sauce, ready to serve with your favorite pudding (or ice cream!) Your guests will be back for more at your next dinner party, I guarantee it!
