To make this authentic coffee (which is similar to a Greek coffee), you will need an ibrik (traditional Turkish coffee pot). If you don’t have one, you can just use a small saucepan.
- 1 Cup of water
- Finely ground coffee beans
Fill the ibrik with water and add sugar to taste (if you like). Stir in the coffee grounds. Next place over a medium/low heat and watch for the water bubbling and foaming up through the coffee layer on top.
When the foamy layer increases depth, remove the ibrik from the heat source. Then serve and enjoy.
This recipe makes 1 cup. If your ibrik serves 3 cups of coffee, just adjust your ingredients to suite.
